How We Find the Cause

A compressor is the most expensive part in the system, but the most common causes of warm A/C are low refrigerant from a leak, a stuck blend door, a failed pressure switch, or a fan that isn't running. Can you just recharge my A/C without finding the leak?
We can, but the refrigerant will leak out again. We recommend finding the leak first so you don't pay twice.
My A/C is cold while driving but warm at idle. What's wrong?
Usually the cooling fan is not running at the right speed, or the radiator/condenser airflow is restricted. We test fan operation and airflow before condemning the compressor.
Why is my A/C blowing through the wrong vents?
That's a blend door or vent door actuator, not refrigerant. We check the climate control module for actuator codes.
Do I need R-1234yf or R-134a?
Most vehicles 2018+ use R-1234yf. We identify your refrigerant from the under-hood label and use the correct type , mixing damages the system.
