Cleanable in many cases , off-vehicle baking and washing. Replacement is the last resort. We assess ash content first.
Why does my DPF light come on if my truck is running fine?
The filter has hit a soot mass threshold. The vehicle is asking for a regen drive cycle or a forced regen.
What's "active" vs "passive" regen?
Passive: normal driving at sustained highway speed burns off soot. Active: ECU injects fuel into the exhaust to raise temp and burn soot. Forced: a tech triggers regen with a scan tool.
