How We Find the Cause
Coolant leaks are found, not guessed. We pressure-test the cooling system to the cap's rating, watches for external drips at the radiator, hoses, water pump weep hole, thermostat housing, heater core, and engine block. UV dye is added when the leak is intermittent. For internal leaks (white exhaust smoke, coolant loss without visible drip), we use a combustion gas tester on the radiator overflow.
What Not to Assume
A puddle under the front of the vehicle does not always mean the radiator , sometimes a hose clamp is loose, a thermostat housing gasket is weeping, or condensation from the A/C drain is misidentified as coolant (clear water, no color). A heater core leak shows up inside the cabin (sweet smell, fog on glass), not under the vehicle.

Will Bar's Leaks or a similar additive work?
It can mask a small leak temporarily. It can also clog heater cores and radiators. We do not recommend it as a real fix.
How urgent is a coolant leak?
Slow external leaks: schedule within 1-2 weeks. Fast external leaks or any internal leak: stop driving and call us. Running low on coolant overheats engines.
My coolant reservoir keeps emptying but I can't find a leak. What's happening?
Could be an internal leak (head gasket), a leaking heater core dripping inside the cabin, or evaporation through a failing radiator cap. We pressure-test and use combustion gas testing to identify.
Does coolant type matter for the repair?
Yes — we refill with the correct OAT, HOAT, or IAT coolant for your vehicle. Wrong chemistry causes corrosion and gasket failure.
