How We Find the Cause
Drivetrain symptoms , clunk in gear changes, vibration at certain speeds, AWD warnings, transfer case noise , start with a road test on different surfaces and speeds. We inspect CV axles for boot tears and clicking on turns, check driveshaft U-joints for play, listens to differential and transfer case bearings, and scan AWD/4WD modules for fault codes.
What Not to Assume
A vibration is not always the drivetrain , it can be tires (out of balance, defective), wheel bearings, or alignment. A clunk during shifts is not always the transmission , sometimes it's a worn motor mount, broken transmission mount, or worn driveshaft slip yoke.

My AWD warning light is on. Drivetrain or computer?
Could be either. We scan the AWD module for fault codes and inspect the mechanical components (transfer case, viscous coupling) when codes point that way.
My car clicks on turns. What's that?
Almost always a worn CV joint. The outer CV joint clicks; the inner clunks. We inspect boot condition and replace axles when joints are worn.
Differential whine , fix it or live with it?
Bearing whine grows worse over time. Driving on a failing differential eventually destroys gears, which is a much larger repair. Address whines early.
Do I need a 4WD service?
Transfer case fluid changes are typically 30,000-50,000 miles. Front and rear differential fluids on similar intervals. We perform platform-specific services.
